Comments
Notes on price component data (private sector): The manufacturers selling price includes the margin for the carrying and forwarding (C&F) agent which is usually 2-4%. The C&F agent holds a license to sell the medicines in the name of the manufacturer; they have their own depot and distribute to wholesalers. In this survey the following free bonus stock to private retailers was identified: Ceftriaxone 1g vials - Ranbaxy and Aristo: buy 10 packs and get 2 free packs. Co-amoxiclav 500+125mg tab - Ranbaxy and GSK: buy 10 packs and get 2 free packs. Omepazole 20 mg tab - Zydus and Alkem: buy 6 packs and get 1 free pack.
